The Leadership Philosophy: Stewards of the Standard

When we say we are "on the level," we mean there is absolutely no hierarchy of human value at The Light Project Outreach. We operate a strict zero-judgment zone where egos are left at the door. Your past, your bank account, and your struggles do not dictate your worth here.

But a zero-judgment zone does not mean a zero-standard zone.

To keep this community safe, functional, and moving forward, there must be structure. Here is how leadership actually works when everyone is on the level:

  • We are Stewards, Not Saviors. Our leaders do not view themselves as above the community; they are accountable to the community. A steward’s job is to protect the environment, manage the resources, and ensure the blueprint is followed. We are the guides, not the owners.

  • The Standard is the Authority. Leaders at The Light Project Outreach don't demand that you submit to them—they require that you submit to the standard. Our rules, our accountability, and our L.I.G.H.T. principles are the boss. The leaders are simply the ones responsible for holding the line so the culture doesn't corrupt.

  • Guidance Without Ego. If you are wandering in the dark, you need someone holding a lantern. That person isn't better than you; they just have the responsibility of illuminating the path forward. Our leaders are expected to be on the front lines, doing the hard work, and earning the respect of the community every single day.

Some organizations begin with a business plan; ours began with a survival story. Thomas’s early years were forged in the fires of homelessness, foster care, and profound uncertainty. But rather than letting a broken system define his future, he completely repurposed those experiences into a functional life operating system. He spent years developing the exact framework required to help others move past simply surviving to master their actual purpose.

​Thomas is the architect of our accountability. Because of his background, he knows firsthand that while many organizations focus on addressing immediate needs with temporary band-aids, lasting community transformation only happens when you equip individuals to rebuild from the inside out. He operates with absolute directness, demanding radical accountability and deep, unfiltered conversations to help people forge an uncorrupted human foundation.

​Today, Thomas is driving the physical manifestation of that vision: the Lighthouse Resource Centers. He leads our strategic efforts, building the high-level partnerships with businesses, civic leaders, and philanthropic organizations required to turn our blueprint into a reality that will serve generations to come.

    As the Secretary and Treasurer of The Light Project Outreach, Jocie is the steward of our resources and the engine behind our growth. While Thomas and Israel hold the structure and the culture, Jocie is the one helping us pour the concrete.

    Working closely on community outreach and strategic funding, she is the bridge connecting our mission to the partners and donors required to open our physical doors. Beyond managing the capital and organizational integrity, Jocie plays a vital role in shaping how our initiatives are designed and experienced. She ensures that every dollar spent, every outreach effort, and every physical space we build perfectly reflects our zero-judgment, "on the level" standard.

With a naturally room-filling presence and warm, expansive energy, he ensures that the culture of The Light Project Outreach actually lives and breathes on the ground level.

    Israel is the bridge-builder. He operates on the absolute certainty that every single person holds an inner light. His focus is on earning the trust of the community, breaking down barriers, and making sure that whether you are a veteran, a CEO, or navigating homelessness, you know immediately that we are on the level. He is the voice making sure the vision stays inclusive, passionate, and fiercely protective of the people stepping out of the dark.
